Tulevaisuusmylly.
The "Future Mill" (Tulevaisuusmylly) is a panel organized by Futures Finland that generates future-oriented perspectives on societal issues and makes them available to everyone. It enriches the dialogue surrounding both current topics and long-term futures. The discussion topics highlight perspectives that often receive insufficient attention in contemporary societal discourse.
The first Tulevaisuusmylly panel examined the future of the Nordic welfare state. It was conducted in collaboration with the Federation of Finnish Enterprises (Suomen Yrittäjät).
The report presents six key discussion topics: the post-state-led era; the future of entrepreneurship; the direction of employee-employer relations; the future of interest representation; the roles of the public, private, and third sectors in the fight for planetary sustainability; and the nature of the well-being we aim to achieve in the future.
Tulevaisuusmylly VOL 1
Tulevaisuusmylly Vol. 2 deepens the discussion, focusing specifically on society's capacity for renewal, the development of the public sector, the role of civil society, value creation, and individual agency.
The publication was authored by members of the Futures Finland board, drawing upon the insights and discussions gathered during the panel and the broader participatory process. The report presents four topics for discussion: The crumbling core of the welfare state and public sector automation; Agency in transition: the future of participation in the age of AI; From innovation to value creation; and The third sector seeking its role.
